QKD URN Namespace

Introduction

ETSI Industrial Specification Group (ISG) on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is maintaining a namespace registry of Uniform Resource Names (URNs) as a sub tree of the ETSI root urn:etsi namespace. A description of the top level ETSI URN namespace can be found on the ETSI webpage ETSI URN Namespace.

The QKD URN namespace has the following structure:

The following sections describe the basic structure of the sub-tree and how an entry in the registry can be requested.

Type definitions

Requesting an entry

  1. Applications for an URN in the ETSI QKD URN Namespace shall be contributed to ISG QKD via the ETSI portal or emailed to the Chairman / Technical Officer to be contributed on behalf of the requestor. As a minimum, applications should include the information detailed in the table below.
  2. ISG QKD shall review the contribution containing the application and decide whether it can be accepted. Decisions shall be taken according to the normal Rules of Procedure of ISG QKD (in a meeting or via Remote Consensus).
  3. If the application cannot be accepted as submitted this will be communicated to the requestor. The requestor may be asked to provide clarification or additional information to try to resolve any concerns.
  4. If the application is accepted a new entry in the QKD URN Namespace will be created and recorded on this page. The requestor will also be informed of the outcome.
  5. After this page is updated a copy will be contibuted to ISG QKD on the portal for information as a permanent record.

Brief Description A brief description of the node and possible sub-nodes. This should be suitable for inclusion in the "QKD sub-tree" table on this page after acceptance (ISG QKD may revise the text supplied).
Include links / references to relevant work items, repositories for YANG models etc.
Detailed Description A more detailed description of the functionality associated with the intended usage of the namespace.
Requesting Body The name of the body making the request / application. Please include details where a working group is involved.
Work Item Reference Where the request relates to an active work item please provide a refrence.
Contact person The name and e-mail address of the person submitting the application. Additional contacts may be provided e.g. an official of the requesting body, Rapporteur, editor, contributor etc.
